The company started from a shared frustration: accountants and operators were still spending too much time on repetitive checking, coordination, and follow-up work that software should already lighten.
Why this company exists
Daniel and Harpaul first met at the University of British Columbia, through overlapping friend groups and shared ambition. After graduation, their paths split geographically but not intellectually.
Harpaul moved into engineering at Microsoft. Daniel built his career through KPMG and CrossCountry Consulting, working across accounting, finance, and operations. From different sides of the table, they kept returning to the same problem: too much important work was still held together by manual process.
That pattern became even clearer as AI capabilities accelerated. The opportunity was not just to automate one narrow task. It was to redesign operational workflows so teams could spend less time on repetitive checking and more time on decisions.
Technology should make work feel lighter.
SpeedReview sits at the intersection of business clarity and technical depth. We are building tools that work inside real review processes for real accounting teams, and we want the way we build the company to reflect that same practicality.
What we optimize for
Journey
From a friendship at UBC to building workflow software for accounting teams, the throughline has always been the same: remove unnecessary operational weight.
Daniel and Harpaul met at the University of British Columbia through overlapping friend groups, shared ambition, and a common interest in business and technology.
Harpaul joined Microsoft in Seattle. Daniel began at KPMG before moving to CrossCountry Consulting, working across finance and operations.
The conversations intensified around a simple pattern: businesses were not thinking big enough about how AI could change real operational work.
Text threads became build sprints. Ideas became product specs. Product specs became code. SpeedReview started taking shape.
The first customer conversations, early product loops, and guided onboarding work all fed into a product designed for real accounting teams.
Values
Every feature starts with a real problem faced by accountants. We spend time with firms before we commit to product decisions.
We use AI where it removes real review friction, not where it just makes the product sound more advanced.
Accountants trust us with sensitive financial work. We want the product, onboarding, and commercial process to feel equally clear.
We ship quickly, stay close to users, and keep feedback loops short while the product is still taking shape.
We know what deadline pressure feels like. That perspective shapes the workflows we choose to simplify first.
Early users shape the roadmap directly. We want the product to stay grounded in real workflows, not abstract feature planning.
